While Rachael may have retired from gymnastics, it seemed like a waste to limit those skills to just cheerleading. So, diving seemed like a good sport to consider. Not surprisingly, it went well. Rachael signed up to join the Rhode Island Diving Club, which trains at the University of Rhode Island. The pandemic however put a quick end to that.
However, Rachael, while still an 8th grader at Morton Middle School, was able to get a waiver to compete for the Durfee High Swim & Dive team. Though she was new to the sport, Rachael became Southeast Conference Champion with a high score was 241.35. That mark is not too far from the school record of 254.10.
